Was it smoke or vapor? If vapor could be related to the AC/Heating. If smoke, pull the carpet and CE cover and start inspecting the fuses, relays, and wiring for any obvious shorts. Fuses/Relay panel is in the passenger side footwell.

Yup, as Rjm says, your CE Panel is there. Hopefully it's just vapor. Just pull the wood board down there off (couple bolts) and inspect. What did the smoke smell like?

congrats! whats the milage on the car if i may ask?

first thing once you confirm electronics are ok would be to hoist it up and check the crank end play since its an automatic, #1 cause for all dead 32v motors is thrust bearing failure due to driveshaft creep. also a tranny fluid drain is definitely in order once you sort out a probable intake refresh and tune up :)

Looking forward to your progress!

Jonathan.

There's actually an AC outlet inside the glove box of my 79, not sure of other years though. Was the fan turned on? AC or heater on?Was the vapor coming from any of the other vents or only the glove box area? Is this the first time it's happened?

I would check the coolant level, look for leaks. Make sure the carpet and padding in the passenger footwell are dry.

Yeah, my S will have some weird vapor coming out the vents when I have the AC on sometimes. It's kinda reminds me when I was riding in a Military C130 and it was like the clouds came into the plane.
