Post Turn Signal Stalk Assembly - Horn Contact
The copper tab that the horn contact rubs against is gone on the turn signal assembly. The steering column bushing was bad and it let the entire steering shaft slide downward in the column and eventually just broke the copper plate off the rivet.

Is that servicable or does the entire turn signal/wiper/cruise control stalk needed to be replaced?

Thanks,
Raymond

Yikes, I gotta look at mine too. I just replaced the upper bearing too this past weekend. I know the copper on my steering wheel looks bad too. :driving:

I just replaced the horn contact that is held in place on the back of the steering wheel, the bad bearing had also caused the the tab that cancels the turn signal to get sheared off.

I have a feeling I'll have to fabricate something if I want to fix it myself, otherwise I'll have to replace the entire stalk assembly. I was just wondering is someone had gone down this road before.

Try a search on rennlist for stalk or turn signal.

Could be a used stalk is cheap though, so that might be the way to go.

It's a solid unit all riveted together and not servicable. I replaced mine in its entirety with one off a car that was being dismantled when the headlight full beam switch failed.
