 First Post and a picture
Hey everyone,
Newbie here. This is my first post and a photo of my recent purchase. My second 928S4. I had an '87 that I sold ten years ago and regretted doing so. Found one I liked, will most likely be asking a few questions here and there. Fairly competent with tools and understanding, rebuilt the heads on my '87 when I had it.
Love the 928. I'm a lucky kid to have one. Just got back from a leisurely Saturday drive.

Welcome to the board! That's a real nice S4. I really like the color too. Looking forward to seeing more.

Re: First Post and a picture
Thanks, MP
Nothing beats that exhilaration with acceleration. I'm not prone to busting the speed limit though. I just lock the cruise control at the speed limit and relax. But hanging around a hot 21-year-old is very cool.
This was the other car, from 1999. An '87 S4. The wheels in the back were incorrect as I had to find this set as it was. The PO had put on some hideous BBS's that really made it look like a toy. Even after I stripped the gold paint of of them, they still looked horrible. I found this set quite by accident and made a swap. I polished them and painted the center caps and also polished the lug nuts. Makes a huge difference. The '89 will get similar treatment. But it needs to cool down outside a little. I bought this '87 with a busted timing belt and re-did the top ends. It started right up after reassembly and I drove it everyday for a few years. Costs started to eat into my salary and I had to make a decision. But, ever since that day I sold it, I regretted it.
So, now I'm back where I was, sort of. This '89 is in excellent condition, everything works. I ordered new window triangles for it and sprayed copious amounts of Lysol on the carpet to help rid it of a moldy odeur, then, I will go after the leather with Lexol and slowly detail/clean/repair as I find things. My current conundrum is getting the AC system to suck up more refrigerant. It's been converted to R134 and I can't seem to get it to take in any more coolant. Will probably have to get a pro's help on that. Is it possible to increase the suction by accelerating the engine just above idle? I don't recall if that's what it takes or not.
Thanks for the welcome.

Here's inside my white/white....See P110 of the Brian Long 928 book. This was before I had the seats recovered and the rest of the leather interior refurbished. Looks REALLY good now. jp 83 Euro S AT 52k
